About the Noyes Foundation and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation:
The Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation promotes a sustainable and just social and natural system by supporting grassroots organizations and movements committed to this goal. Its funding priorities are shaped by a view of the Earth as one community, an interconnected web of life in which human society is an integral part. The Noyes Foundation promotes a sustainable agricultural and food system by supporting rural and urban organizations that: work with farmers and consumers on issues involving sustainable agriculture and community food security; advocate for governmental policies and funding allocations that advance sustainable agriculture and community food security; and counter the actions of public and private sector institutions and corporations that further the concentration of food production and the industrialization of agriculture. To learn more about the Noyes Foundation visit www.noyes.org.
The W. K. Kellogg Foundation was established in 1930 “to help people help themselves through the practical application of knowledge and resources to improve their quality of life and that of future generations." Its programming activities center around the common vision of a world in which each person has a sense of worth; accepts responsibility for self, family, community, and societal well-being; and has the capacity to be productive, and to help create nurturing families, responsive institutions, and healthy communities. WKKF’s food systems grantmaking, focuses on catalyzing efforts that lead to a safe, wholesome food supply for this and future generations while ensuring that food production and food-related business systems are economically viable, environmentally sensitive, sustainable over the long-term, and socially responsible.
