Noyes Foundation Looking for Board Members

The Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation is seeking recommendations for its Board of Directors. We have three vacancies opening up in January 2016 and are putting together a pool of candidates to consider. We could use your help in identifying good people.

The Board term is six years and we are looking for candidates committed to the Foundation's vision, mission, values and theory of change, which can be found on our website -www.noyes.org. We also want people who think broadly about issues and social change, and are willing to listen and exchange views and ideas.

The Noyes Foundation has a deep commitment to having a diverse and inclusive Board of Directors, so we are particularly interested in getting recommendations of people of color. In addition, we prefer those from the activist community who have organizing and coalition building experience. Lastly, we welcome candidates from across the country who live in urban or rural communities or on tribal lands.

Please note that due to potential conflicts of interest, we have decided that current Noyes Foundation grantees are not eligible to serve on the Board of Directors. We also feel it is best to exclude those working for another foundation.

If you have a recommendation or if you would like to suggest yourself, please contact Vic De Luca, Noyes President, with her/his/your name and affiliation. Feel free to email me at vic@igc.org or call me at 212-684-6577, ext. 17.

The deadline for submission of recommendations is Wednesday, March 25th.
